Water Garden Solutions was established in 1999 originally under the Aquapic Solutions banner.
James Allison, the principal, has over 25 years experience in the aquatic trade. His passion for ponds and watergardens began in his youth and led on to qualifications in Biology (B.Sc. Hons) and Applied Hydrobiology (M.Sc.)
Years managing one of the UK’s leading aquatic retailers gave him further hands-on experience dealing with water garden equipment, plants and fish.
James is personally involved in all projects and is assisted by a selected team of independent landscapers and aquatic specialists. Water Garden Solutions also works on projects alongside customers’ own builders/landscapers/architects. Construction work has majored on medium-sized pools, but projects, consultancy and maintenance work are carried out on all sizes of water garden from small pools in town gardens up to small lakes.
James lectures widely on water gardening and related technical topics and is also an award-winning writer with past experience as a contributor to Practical Fishkeeping Magazine (’86-’07); as editor of the International Waterlily and Water Gardening Society’s Water Garden Journal (’97-’04); and authorship of the book Water in the Garden.
The office is based in Cheltenham, on the edge of the Cotswolds.
Regular on-site work is carried out in Gloucestershire and the nearer parts of the surrounding counties of Wiltshire, Worcestershire, Oxfordshire, Herefordshire, and Avon.
